Chapter 7
It is not the first year of the raid on the Danes for it is the second year. As I was observing the mead hall I noticed Hrothgar. He had appeared to gather some of his troops toward him. As I observed this I had noticed the shaper's song off somewhere in the distance. I had notice that the songs of the shaper seem to have changed. The songs were now more elegant, and calming. I noticed that Unferth was being ridiculed by some of the other troops. It might have been for killing one of his brothers, but I might be mistaken. It came to my attention that they were in the middle of a heated argument. "The young king waited on. He had something in reserve some ingenious product of his counselor's wits that would over whelm their scheme"(99).
I had quickly come to the realization that neither of them cared for each others welfare. Both of them were too concerned with each others individual wealth, than forgiveness. Their paths to heaven might be a little more complicated than some of the others around here. A few days later I had returned to my cave. Wealtheow seemed to have brought my ideas and and thoughts off of the concept of nihilism. The dragon had explained to me its importance."The smell of the dragon lay around me like sulphuorus smoke"(102). No matter where I am the dragon always seems to be with me in my mind. A couple days later I had attacked Wealtheow in the mead hall. I then stopped and asked myself, If I kill her is it worth it? Or is it just pointless? I decided to set her free and return back to my cave.

Grendel thoughts chapter 8
Hrothgar's brother is unfortunately killed so therefore Hrothgar's nephew Hrothulf comes to live with him. At this point in time Hrothgar is already the father of two other sons. Hrothgar tries to help Hrothulf, and all of his trauma of being an orphan. "Fourteen years old and a God-damned pretender"(112). In secret he suspects that Hrothulf might secretly be against him and try to over throw him. This is important because it still shows that even in the royal family things still aren't perfect. I later saw Hrothulf in the woods looking at a massive tree. He noticed all of the squirrels and birds that have made a home in the tree. I then noticed that he began to kill any plant in sight within a relative distance of the tree. This is important because it might be an indirect comparison to Hrothgar and all of his thanes.
I have also noticed the behavior of Hrothulf. He appears to be much friendlier to Wealtheow. I still have yet to come to an understanding as of why. Almost a year later goes by and his behavior has not changed at all. It might have even gotten worse since he first arrived at Hart. I have noticed that he has blocked everyone out, except Red Horse, who serves as guidance to Hrothulf even though he is just an elderly peasant. Red Horse gives Hrothulf ideas to plan out is "revenge". "But satisfy the grred of the majority, and the rest will do you no harm"(118). And I know that this is not good news for Hrothgar.

Chapter 6 blog
In chapter 6, I have asked myself. Can anybody truly ever have true knowledge. The disbelief and any claims or true knowledge, can be referred to as what I call scepticism. After my recent encounter with the dragon. I have come to the conclusion that he has obtained true knowledge. "Whatever I may have understood or misunderstood in the dragon's talk, something much deeper had stayed with me"(pg 75). Scepticism refers to this particular concept because unlike the dragon, I have unfortunately not obtained true knowledge.
The events were not all that bad in a long run. The dragon a spell on me, it makes it so that I don't feel pain against any weapons that could cut me. This is a major game changer for me. And also bad news for Hrothgar, and the thanes."I could walk up to the mead hall whenever I pleased, and they were powerless"(76). This spell then gave me the ability to attack the mead hall. Which then sparked the start of the war. In my life I have never had anyone stand up to me, at least not until Unferth. I chuckled when I laid my eyes upon this so called "hero". I started to throw apples at him. I was struck by laughter, what kind of hero can't even make it past a few apples. I began to mock Unferth, I then knocked over a table that landed on top of him, burying himself in an avalanche of apples. I have never seen a "hero" cry before. I decided not to kill him in the end. In conclusion, it was a pretty fun day
